Affiliate Coupon Sites

As affiliate marketing has grown over the past few years, it seems to me that the amount of coupon sites out there has grown at an incredible rate. It can be profitable to create coupon sites, but make sure you read. What I mean by this is make sure to read your affiliate terms of service before listing coupons on your site.

Just this week, I found out that two merchants, C28 and ChristianBook.com don’t allow commissions on sales with a coupon that came through an affiliate link. I haven’t really promoted C28 much, but I have worked a lot with ChristianBook.com and have no idea how much commissions I could have lost since I was driving traffic with a coupon. Yes, I should have taken my own advice and refreshed myself on their terms of service before placing the coupon code next to my links, and I learned the hard way.

Many merchants are having a tough time in this economy and can’t afford to take the hit on commission and a coupon discount. So the next time you are throwing up coupon codes for your merchants, make sure you know what their policy is.
