On Tuesday night, my wife and I got back home after our 10 day vacation to New Orleans and a Caribbean cruise, where I spent the entire trip without my computer. It was nice to unplug from the world for a few days which gave me a lot of time to think about my business, and more importantly spend quality time with my best friend, my wife. I wanted to show a few pictures of our trip and let you all know what we did. We flew into New Orleans on January 24th and stayed there one night before our cruise took off the next day. We briefly walked around the French Quarter, and hit up Boubon St. at night for dinner and some music.
The next day we boarded the cruise ship in the afternoon and took off. The first port we stopped in was Costa Maya, Mexico, which seemed to me to only be there for cruise ships. We still had a great time laying in hammocks on the beach and eating chips and salsa.
After Costa Maya, we next stopped in Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala. While there wasn’t much at the port, Renee and I went kayaking through on a river in the jungle. It was a great time and we saw some really cool things such as a giant iguana that was about twice the size of my dog. We then spent the rest of the day at a resort sitting on the beach and once again, eating some amazing chips, salsa, and guacamole.

After Guatemala, we stopped in Belize City, Belize. It was not what I was expecting. Belize to me felt more like Jamaica than a Latin American country. I don’t think I have ever been offered drugs more in one day anywhere else I’ve been. We explored the city a bit, got hasseled by tons of guys trying to get us to go on their tours, and once again, found a restaurant and ate chips and salsa (which as you can tell is my most favorite food ever).

The last port on our cruise was Cozumel, Mexico. This was our favorite stop as there was so much to do. You could easily spend a lot of time there. We decided to go snorkeling at the Palancar Reef, which is the worlds 2nd largest reef. Snorkeling the reef had to be one of the top things I’ve done in my life. It was so amazing and we saw a ton of cool fish, sea turtles, and creatures. If you are ever in Cozumel you must go snorkeling. After that, our bought dropt us off at the beach for a few hours to relax until it was time to head back to the cruise ship.

After that, we headed back to New Orleans for a couple of days and had a great time. We took a tour of Hurricane Katrina and got to see neighborhoods all over the city. After that I got to see the Portland Trail Blazers (which I am a huge fan) play the New Orleans Hornets which was one of the best games of my life (and I go to a lot of basketball games). I think besides my wife and I, there were only about 2 other Portland fans in the whole arena. The Blazers came back from losing by 20 points, to win the game and I couldn’t stop smiling. We even got on local tv looking like goons after the game.

We had a great time and it is nice to come back home after being gone so long. The nice thing about affiliate marketing is that I still made more while being on vacation than I did at my old job working.

I envy you, Logan. Can’t wait to go to the Caribbean next time! Will probably try out the Dominican Republic next time (last time we went to Jamaica).
You are so wise to take a vacation and unplugg your computer. Looks like you had fun and I enjoyed seeing the pictures of you and your lovely wife. My husband, daughter and I also went on a Caribbean cruise several years ago. Of course we had to stop off in Florida at Disney World, too.
Good memories! You will have them too.
