Google AdWords Support For The Win

According To Google, I Am The 2nd Worst Affiliate

Two days ago I wrote a post titled “How I Created The Worst Affiliate Program Ever” which explained how I had failed with starting my own affiliate program in the past and some things I learned from it. I was looking in my stats yesterday and noticed that I was getting a small amount of traffic from Google for the term “worst affiliate”.

Changing Google’s Description

This week, one of my websites was showing a description in Google that I had no idea where it came from. It wasn’t using the meta description or any of the text on my site. After exploring the issue I learned that it was pulling the data from the open directory project (ODP). I was wanting to use my meta description on Google instead and finally figured out how to block Google from using the ODP description.
